Nitpicker's Guide to Peter David's Q-In-Law
- page 1: (general comment) The Tizarin couple's names, Kerin and
Sehra, sound very much like the more Terran names Kevin and Sarah.
- page 44: Picard refers to the "perpetually silent Mr. Homn". Actually, Homn
thanked Picard (aloud) for the drinks at the end of his first visit
(on the television series); however, he is nearly perpetually
silent.
- page 60: Graziunas refers to Lwaxana as "holder of the Sacred Chalice of
Betazed"; actually, she holds the "Sacred Chalice of Riix"; this isn't
a nitpick, however, since it's possible, if not likely, that Graziunas
doesn't remember her exact title.
- page 77: Wesley realizes "he was barking orders ... to someone who
distantly outranked him", ie, O'Brien. Though it took us nearly
forever to find out, an episode of Deep Space Nine reveals that
O'Brien is an enlisted man, and therefore ranks below Ensign Crusher.
- page 85: While guessing the magic word, Data tries "hocus pocus" and
"presto chango". Actually, these are combinations of two words (I
would've overlooked this transgression for anybody except Data,
who, as an android, is usually more precise).
- page 97: Q is shocked when Lwaxana touches him; however, she also
"coquettishly batted Q on the shoulder" on page 90, and he seemed
unconcerned.
- page 98: Deanna refers to the "going of thanks". This is probably a typo,
seemingly a combination of "giving of thanks" and "gong of thanks".
