A: I've been using the name 'proveit' since I got my first UNIX computer account, way back in 1988 (when dinosaurs roamed the Earth and Madonna kept most of her clothes on). I thought it would be a good name for a mathematician, a bold mix of intelligence and nerdism. It also reflects my belief that if someone wants to change my thinking, they should "prove it"... that is, prove their point of view is correct, instead of using invalid "hand-waving" techniques such as statistics or personal (or secondhand) experience. Of course, I know use the address 'sarang@sarangworld.com' instead.
